Before Your First Day
You will receive forms directly from Human Capital and Development prior to your start date.
For Wage Employees (29 Hours or less)
Under state policy, wage employees are permitted to work up to 29 hours on average per week and they may not work more than 1500 hours per wage year. For wage employees, the state’s current wage year runs from May 1st through April 30th. See the following link for required forms.
For Classified Employees (40 Hours)
Classified full-time staff are salaried, employees, whose terms and conditions of employment are subject to the Virginia Personnel Act (Va. Code § 2.2-2900). Classified employees are covered employees who have access to the Commonwealth of Virginia health care benefits programs and the Virginia Retirement System. See the following link for required forms.
For Current Wage Employees Transitioning to Classified Positions
Wage employees (29 hours or less) who are transitioning to a classified position may access additional forms pertinent to their new classified position. See the following link for required forms.
For Temp Workforce
Temporary workforce is accessed through a temporary agency that partners with DMAS to provided qualified temporary personnel to various divisions within the agency. Our temporary workforce may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the agency. See the following link for required forms.
