Employee Relations

The Human Resources Division (HR) of the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is dedicated to serving the agency in the resolution of conflict, specifically those issues which include conduct, performance and grievances. HR advises the agency, including both employees and management, concerning the appropriate course of action to resolve workplace complaints, performance-based issues and conduct issues. Human Resources assists management in the preparation of performance improvement plans when employees are not performing their duties effectively or to the level expected and required. HR investigates harassment and discrimination complaints, develops appropriate employee relations instructional materials and trains DMAS employees.

If you are not satisfied with a performance appraisal that you have received or have concerns about the content, you may contact Human Resources for guidance and assistance. You may file an appeal regarding your performance evaluation. HR also guides and directs management and employees in the resolution of conflicts through the use of either formal or informal mediation and/or the Grievance Procedure. The internal respondents in each level of the Grievance Process at DMAS are provided at the Grievance Procedure tab below.

If you need assistance with an Employee Relations issue, consult with your immediate supervisor or manager or seek guidance from Human Resources.
